Distant Sorrows
This orchestral work is written using a relatively traditional orchestration approach. The piece was inspired by a morning when a quiet yet unexplainable sadness appeared upon waking. The feeling did not originate from any personal event, but rather from a broader awareness of the world.
In an age of constant information flow, people are continually exposed to images and reports of disasters, conflicts, and suffering from distant parts of the world. Though these events occur elsewhere, their presence gradually permeates our emotional landscape.
The music does not depict any specific incident. Instead, it attempts to evoke this subtle and unlocalized emotion—an echo of sorrow arriving from "elsewhere," emerging slowly within the stillness of the morning. Melodic fragments and orchestral textures unfold gradually, like distant resonances that sometimes appear blurred and sometimes more distinct.
Within this sonic space, sorrow is no longer confined to a particular place, but becomes a shared human feeling that quietly resonates across distances.
彼處之悲
這首管弦樂作品以較為傳統的管弦樂法創作。樂曲的靈感來自某個清晨醒來時難以言說的悲傷感受。那並非源於個人的事件，而更像是一種對世界的感知：在資訊迅速流動的時代，人們不斷透過新聞與影像看見世界各地的災難、衝突與苦難，這些遠在他處的事件，卻在不知不覺間滲入日常的情緒之中。
